Frequently asked questions
How does a bank link help to verify and complete your administrative records?
Your bank is the most reliable source of all transactions. If you compare your transactions to your file, you can immediately see which payment is already linked to a document and which has not yet been made. This prevents gaps in your administrative records and reduces last-minute searches.
What do I see in OkiOki after I link my bank?
You receive an up-to-date overview of your cash flows and the status of your file. In other words, you can quickly see:
- which invoices are still open (to be paid or received)
- which transactions are already linked to an invoice or receipt
- which transactions are still missing supporting documents
How does a bank link help me with my VAT declaration or quarterly closing?
You want to be sure your quarterly closing is accurate: Is every amount correct and every supporting document present?
With the bank link, OkiOki detects what is missing faster and monitors outstanding invoices better. This ensures a more complete file is sent to your accountant and reduces the need for subsequent corrections.
What access do I give OkiOki when I link my bank?
You give OkiOki access to read your transactions, so that it can verify and complete your records. OkiOki uses this information to match invoices and show missing supporting documents.
Can OkiOki make payments or transfer money?
No. OkiOki cannot make payments, transfer money or add new beneficiaries. The link is intended for reading and verifying, not for bank transactions.
Can I also link savings accounts or accounts linked to an investment product to OkiOki?
No, this is not yet possible. At this time, these accounts still fall outside the PSD2 regulations and are therefore not yet shared by the banks. Credit card spending is also not yet shared by the banks.
Can I remove the bank link and if so, what will change in OkiOki?
Yes, you can remove the link at any time. From then on, OkiOki will no longer read in any new transactions. Your existing file, documents and overviews will remain visible, but will no longer be updated automatically based on your bank transactions.
