Unfortunately, classic CODA files also have some drawbacks. They are:
The solution? CODA+ by OkiOki. These are Coda files with additional features and therefore also with additional automation possibilities.
Many standard CODA files are not available for every bank. As a result, processing is less uniform and you can't rely on the same automation everywhere.
CODA+ helps to put an end to that problem. Via PSD2, OkiOki combines the familiar CODA format that works with all Belgian banks. Some foreign banks, such as N26 and Bunq, are also included.
Thanks to the way PSD2 works, no CODA mandate is required. This eliminates a lot of administration work, waiting time and mandate fees. Your client gives their own consent, accompanied by OkiOki.
The extra bank fees associated with traditional CODA files are eliminated. There is also no need to open a more expensive business account.
Since CODA+ works via PSD2, a normal basic account is sufficient. And CODA is already activated on that account.
OkiOki collects the statements for Visa and Mastercard from all Belgian banks. The OCR technology - unique to OkiOki - converts it into individual payments.
The software then automatically searches for the corresponding receipts and converts these transactions into CODA files.
OkiOki creates a unique IBAN for each credit card. This allows you to add a new account in accounting and import the monthly CODA files of the credit card. You can then easily process the payments.
OkiOki links a payment without structured reference - such as restaurant receipts or invoices your client receives in-store - to the proof of payment. The app then translates this link into its own structured reference.
This is then added to both the proof of payment in the UBL and to the payment in CODA+. This allows your accounting software to process these transactions automatically.
Another added value of CODA+ is the enrichment with information from OkiOki. Classic CODA files contain only the information available in the bank payment. However, you often need context to process a payment correctly. Was it a business lunch? Does the payment belong to a specific project? Did your client add a comment?
CODA+ adds this information to the payment in the CODA file so that you can process it correctly right away.
This is very useful, for example, when proof of payment is missing. The search for that elusive piece of paper can be quite a headache. But if your client indicates that the proof has been lost, you will see this immediately in the CODA file.
Are you starting with CODA files for your client? You will then have access to the files from the activation. But you also need the payments from the previous weeks or months for the VAT declaration or quarterly closing. CODA+ fills those gaps.
OkiOki offers CODA files up to 90 days back in time. This means that you have access to the full range right from the start.
Is it time to renew the current account access permission? Then OkiOki will inform your clients.
Did they forget to apply for the renewal? No problem, the 90-day retroactive effect also applies. You will therefore never have to deal with gaps in the CODA files.
Mandate fees, bank fees, monthly fees - the price of standard CODA files can be very high.
But not with OkiOki’s CODA+. The price is set at only €1.60 per account per month. No mandate fees, no bank fees for your client and no hidden costs. In other words: OkiOki makes working easier, faster and more affordable.

You get access to CODA+ for €1.60 per account per month. No mandate fees, bank fees or hidden costs. |
Yes, OkiOki can also give you access to SODA files. Social secretariats are increasingly offering booking documents. That’s convenient, of course, provided that these documents are actually sent to you.
OkiOki helps with this. The app integrates with SD Worx’ Finbox and Liantis’ Digilinks. Are you entering the entrepreneur’s OkiOki e-mail address there? If so, the booking documents are then automatically sent via OkiOki to the correct file in the accounting software.
Acerta and Partena can now provide OkiOki with booking documents.
This way, as an accountant, you’ll have an even more complete file, without having to chase after payroll entries. And all that at an affordable price: CODA files for current accounts and credit cards for €1.60 per account per month, with payroll accounting documents included free of charge.
Savings accounts are not available via PSD2. As a result, OkiOki cannot provide access to savings accounts and therefore cannot provide CODA files for these accounts.
Fortunately, that drawback is not a serious one. There are not usually that many transactions involving savings accounts. That’s why processing those accounts manually doesn't take that much time.
In a nutshell: for current accounts and credit cards, OkiOki takes a great deal of work off your hands. For savings accounts, the traditional, manual process applies for the time being.
No, not at all. The OkiOki CODA files are an optional service.
You choose for each file whether you want to receive CODA files and for which accounts. For example, you can decide to only activate CODA files for Argenta current accounts. Or only for credit cards. Or simply anything that might be useful for that file.
In other words: you’re at the wheel and in control. OkiOki gives you extra options, but doesn't commit you to anything. This allows you to tailor the process to each file without disrupting your entire office workflow.
No. OkiOki can only offer CODA files to entrepreneurs who also use OkiOki.
There’s a good reason for that. During onboarding, the entrepreneur links their bank account to OkiOki. It is precisely thanks to this link that OkiOki can retrieve the account information and create CODA files.
For you as an accountant, this means above all certainty and clarity: as soon as a client works with OkiOki and links their account, the financial information can automatically be included in the file. Without separate intermediate steps or extra detours.
Perhaps you already work with CODA files. They replace traditional account statements and help you to enter financial transactions more easily.
Today, CODA files can come from two sources. On the one hand, there are the traditional bank statements which Febelfin used to convert into CODA files and which Codabox now markets. On the other hand, there is the account information that banks make available via PSD2.
PSD2 stands for Payment Services Directive. This is a European directive that regulates payment transactions and guarantees their security.
33reasons SA/NV, the public limited company behind OkiOki, is approved by the National Bank of Belgium as an Account Information Service Provider under PSD2. This enables OkiOki, with the entrepreneur’s consent, to retrieve account information from the bank.
This consent is valid for 90 days. OkiOki then asks the entrepreneur for permission again. Based on this PSD2 account information, OkiOki creates CODA files and makes them available to the accountant. To you, in other words.
This gives you financial transactions in a form that makes it easy for you to work with. And your client? No more spending lots of time and effort on providing bank information.
Yes. CODA files are also available for one-person businesses, at the same favourable rate.
This may be of interest to you as an accountant. Thanks to OkiOki, your client's finances are kept under control, they receive alerts when documents are missing and an alarm is triggered if there is a risk of invoices being paid twice.
The administrative workflows of one-person businesses is therefore also much more complete and more efficiently monitored. For you this means: less searching, fewer loose ends and better control of the file.
It’s just as attractive for your client. OkiOki gives them a better overview of their payments. So, they keep more money in their account.
